LIUZHOU, China – Wuling has reached more than 3 million cumulative sales of new-energy vehicles (NEVs), marking a major milestone in the brand's shift toward electrified mobility.SGMW says the figure puts its cumulative NEV sales at third place globally. The milestone was presented as part of the information shared with ASEAN media during a media program in China in September 2026.
The achievement comes against the backdrop of SGMW's much larger overall vehicle business. The company says cumulative vehicle sales have exceeded 30 million units, with its products exported to 105 countries and regions.
NEVs Are Becoming a Bigger Part of Wuling's Business
Wuling's move into new-energy vehicles has gathered pace over the past several years.
In 2022, SGMW introduced its “1-2-5” new-energy development strategy, covering technology development, product clusters and industrial ecosystems. The company subsequently introduced its Wonder, Ling and Magic technology families across several Wuling and Baojun models.
Among the products named by SGMW are the Baojun Xiangjing, Baojun Yunhai, Wuling Xingguang S and Wuling Bingo.
The shift is also visible in SGMW's sales numbers.
During the first half of 2025, SGMW recorded 413,000 new-energy vehicle sales, its highest figure for the period. Total sales reached more than 760,000 vehicles, while NEV sales maintained year-on-year growth of more than 50% for six consecutive months, according to the company.
That puts the 3-million-unit cumulative milestone into perspective. NEVs are no longer a small addition to Wuling's traditional vehicle lineup, but an increasingly important part of the business.
Technology Is Moving Alongside the Products
Wuling's NEV expansion has also been accompanied by changes in how its vehicles are developed and manufactured.
SGMW says its Wonder, Ling and Magic technology families were developed through the company's new-energy program and applied to different products.
At the manufacturing level, the company has also introduced its Intelligent Island-style manufacturing factory, combining digital systems, networking and artificial intelligence with a more flexible production process.
This manufacturing system was one of the technologies highlighted during the ASEAN media visit to SGMW's facilities in Liuzhou.
One Company, Two NEV Figures
There is an interesting difference in the cumulative NEV figures presented by Wuling.
The SGMW company profile states that cumulative NEV sales have exceeded 3 million units, with SGMW ranking third globally.
Meanwhile, Wuling's separate GLOBAL 5 presentation states that cumulative NEV sales have exceeded 4 million units, alongside more than 32 million units in cumulative global production and sales.
The available materials do not explain why the two figures are different. They may represent different reporting periods or scopes, but the documents do not provide enough information to establish the reason.
For that reason, the two figures should be treated separately rather than combined.
What the numbers do illustrate is the scale of Wuling's NEV business as the brand expands its electrified vehicle portfolio and takes those products into more international markets.
