OTOJATIM - Indonesia's affordable electric vehicle market has gained a new contender. Wuling Motors officially introduced the Aira EV at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, expanding its EV lineup with a compact city car aimed at daily urban mobility. The model is offered in two variants, Standard Range and Long Range, with prices starting from Rp155 million and Rp175 million respectively for the Jakarta market.
"The name 'Aira' is inspired by the word 'Air', symbolizing something close to everyday life, adaptable, and capable of bringing comfort to every journey. Through Aira EV, we want to introduce an electric city car that meets the mobility needs of modern society while delivering an enjoyable driving experience. This vision is reflected in four key aspects: Artistic, Innovative, Friendly, and Safe," said Ricky Christian, Marketing Director of Wuling Motors.
The Aira EV is available with two battery options. The Standard Range model offers a CLTC-certified driving range of up to 205 kilometers, while the Long Range version extends that figure to 301 kilometers. Both variants are powered by a 30 kW rear-mounted electric motor producing 85 Nm of torque.
Designed for city driving, the Aira EV adopts a Neo Classic exterior featuring ring-shaped LED headlamps and taillamps, a two-tone body finish, and distinctive 13-inch Four Leaf Clover wheel covers. Buyers can choose from three exterior colors: Starry Black, Galaxy Blue, and Milk Tea. Inside, the cabin uses a Cookies & Cream color theme to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere.
Practicality is one of the vehicle's highlights. With a 4.5-meter turning radius, the compact EV is designed to maneuver easily through urban streets and tight parking spaces. The four-door layout improves passenger access, while folding the rear seats expands luggage capacity to 838 liters, providing greater flexibility for everyday use.
Technology also plays a major role in the Aira EV. The Long Range variant features a 10.1-inch infotainment display with Smartphone Interconnection, Internet of Vehicle (IoV) connectivity through the MyWuling+ application, Smart Entry, Smart Start, and a rear parking camera. The battery supports DC fast charging, allowing the state of charge to increase from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 35 minutes.
Safety equipment includes a body structure built with 60 percent high-strength steel and Wuling's Magic Battery Pro protection system. Additional features include Dual SRS airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold Control (HHC), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH), ISOFIX child-seat anchors, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
During GIIAS 2026, Wuling is offering a GIIAS Fun Package, including a lifetime warranty for core EV components, one year of complimentary insurance for cash and financed purchases, and shopping vouchers worth up to Rp2 million, subject to terms and conditions. Buyers of the Aira EV Long Range can also take advantage of the Deal n Drive program, enabling same-day vehicle delivery after purchase requirements have been completed.
