OTOJATIM - Indonesia has become the first country in the world to introduce the refreshed Suzuki XL7. Unveiled at the 2026 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the seven-seat SUV arrives with a bolder design, upgraded cabin, additional safety technology, and hybrid variants aimed at family buyers.
"The enhanced XL7 is fully inspired by customer feedback and combined with Suzuki's philosophy of continuous improvement. We want to create a vehicle that not only meets today's expectations but also encourages customers to move confidently into the future," said Minoru Amano, President Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) and PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM).
The updated lineup consists of three variants: XL7 New Alpha Hybrid, XL7 New Beta Hybrid, and XL7 New Zeta. All retain the model's core identity as a spacious seven-seater SUV with a 200 mm ground clearance, making it suitable for daily driving as well as longer family trips.
On the outside, Suzuki has introduced a redesigned front grille, new LED fog lamps, refreshed 16-inch alloy wheels, rear combination lamps with black accents, and a shark fin antenna across the lineup. The flagship Alpha Hybrid adopts more black exterior accents, giving it a stronger and more premium appearance.
Inside the cabin, the SUV receives Metallic Hagane Dark Silver trim on the instrument panel and center console. Every variant now comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Suzuki has also integrated Arkamys sound processing software to improve audio quality during everyday driving.
The most significant upgrade comes in the safety department. The XL7 New Alpha Hybrid now features 360 View Camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR). The camera assists drivers while parking and maneuvering, TPMS continuously monitors tire pressure, while the DVR records journeys and allows footage to be accessed through a smartphone application.
Under the hood, the refreshed XL7 continues to use Suzuki's 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine, producing 77 kW of power and 138 Nm of torque. The Alpha Hybrid and Beta Hybrid models are equipped with Suzuki's Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system, combining an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with a 10Ah lithium-ion battery to improve fuel efficiency.
"When Suzuki decided to introduce the new XL7, we had one clear mission. We wanted to preserve everything customers already love about this SUV, including its toughness, spacious cabin, and excellent fuel efficiency, while refining the features that matter most to family journeys," said Donny Saputra, Deputy Managing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS).
Suzuki also expands the color palette with Ice Grayish Blue-Black and Marble Black for the Alpha Hybrid, while the Beta Hybrid and Zeta variants gain a new Marble Black option alongside existing colors.
The refreshed Suzuki XL7 is priced in Indonesia from Rp274.3 million for the New Zeta MT, while the top-spec New Alpha Hybrid AT two-tone is available at Rp329.7 million (on-the-road Jakarta). Buyers also receive an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the lithium-ion battery and complimentary scheduled maintenance for up to 30 months or 50,000 km, subject to Suzuki's terms and conditions.
