OTOJATIM - GWM Indonesia entered the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 on the back of strong sales momentum. The company recorded a 232% year-on-year increase in retail sales during the first half of 2026, reaching 1,391 units, with the Tank 300 emerging as the biggest contributor to that growth.
“At GIIAS, we are presenting stronger substance than ever before. More Than Meets the Eye is more than a theme; it reflects our commitment to Indonesian customers that every GWM product delivers value beyond what is immediately visible,” said Bagus Susanto, CEO of Inchcape GWM Indonesia.
The strong retail performance has encouraged GWM to expand its product portfolio in Indonesia. During GIIAS 2026, the company introduced three major highlights: the Tank 500 Diesel Black Warrior Edition, a new Sand Beige color option for the Tank 300 Diesel, and the Indonesian debut of the ORA 5, GWM's latest global electric vehicle.
The Tank 300 has become one of GWM's key products in the Indonesian market thanks to its off-road capability and safety credentials. At this year's exhibition, the SUV receives the new Sand Beige exterior finish while retaining its existing specifications, ANCAP five-star safety rating, and an on-the-road Jakarta price of Rp699 million.
GWM also unveiled the Tank 500 Diesel Black Warrior Edition, the first special edition based on the Tank 500 Diesel lineup. The SUV features a full black styling package covering its exterior, wheels, and body accents while maintaining the proven 2.4-liter GW4D24 turbo diesel engine producing 480 Nm of torque. Standard equipment includes Triple Differential Lock, eight driving modes, Level 2 ADAS, Nappa leather seats with massage and ventilation functions, and a 12-speaker audio system. The model is priced at Rp925 million (OTR Jakarta).
Meanwhile, the ORA 5 marks GWM's latest step into Indonesia's battery electric vehicle segment. Displayed publicly in Indonesia for the first time, the model represents GWM's newest global EV platform. Technical specifications and pricing have yet to be announced, with further details to be released at a later date.
To strengthen ownership value, GWM is offering an after-sales package for Tank 300 Diesel and Tank 500 Diesel buyers during GIIAS 2026. The package includes free scheduled maintenance for seven years or 70,000 kilometers, a seven-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, and an engine warranty of up to 10 years or one million kilometers. Tank 300 Diesel customers can also choose an Adventure Package featuring accessories designed for outdoor use.
The company currently operates 19 authorized dealerships across Indonesia, supported by a 24-hour Customer Care Center, Emergency Roadside Assistance, and Pickup & Delivery services for scheduled maintenance. These services form part of GWM's broader effort to enhance long-term ownership experience in the country.
With accelerating retail sales, an expanding product lineup, and continued investment in after-sales support, GWM is using GIIAS 2026 to reinforce its position in Indonesia's growing SUV and electrified vehicle markets.
