Toyota Launches Most Powerful Land Cruiser Ever with New Hybrid Technology at GIIAS 2026

OTOJATIM - Toyota has expanded its electrified vehicle portfolio in Indonesia by unveiling the New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV during the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The latest flagship SUV combines legendary off-road capability with hybrid technology, delivering the highest performance ever offered in the Land Cruiser family.
Toyota introduces the New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV at GIIAS 2026, delivering 341 kW of power and 790 Nm of torque.
“For 55 years, Toyota has grown alongside the people of Indonesia by providing relevant mobility solutions. We will continue to develop innovations that deliver comfort, performance, confidence, satisfaction, and joy in every journey,” said Takuya Yokohama, President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM).

The New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV is powered by a 3.5-litre V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The combustion engine produces 305 kW and 650 Nm of torque, while the electric motor contributes 36 kW and 250 Nm. Together, the hybrid system generates a total output of 341 kW and 790 Nm, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser ever introduced by Toyota.

For the first time in the Land Cruiser line-up, Toyota integrates a Parallel Hybrid System, positioning the electric motor between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The system automatically manages engine operation, electric drive, and energy regeneration, allowing smoother acceleration while maintaining strong off-road capability.

The SUV can also operate in EV mode at speeds below 30 km/h during normal take-off conditions. To improve performance across challenging terrain, Toyota equips the model with Auto Multi-Terrain Select, which automatically adjusts driving modes based on road surface conditions to optimise traction.

The GR Sport variant features a black TOYOTA grille, exclusive GR Sport bumpers, matte black alloy wheels, and GR badging. Meanwhile, the VX-R grade receives refreshed front and rear lower bumpers for a more modern appearance.

Alongside the hybrid flagship, Toyota also presented the Land Cruiser FJ in a special preview. Inspired by the original Land Cruiser, the five-seat SUV is powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 122 kW and 245 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system featuring 2H, 4H, 4L, and Rear Differential Lock modes for demanding off-road conditions.

Toyota's GIIAS 2026 display also includes the all-new bZ4X Touring Battery EV, the latest-generation New Hilux, and the New Hilux D-Cab AWD Battery EV, giving visitors a closer look at the company's expanding electrified vehicle range.

The New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV is priced at Rp2.716 billion (Jakarta OTR), while the LC300 GR-S Hybrid EV carries a price tag of Rp2.816 billion.
