OTOJATIM - PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) has introduced a different side of its commercial vehicle lineup at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Partnering with coachbuilder Delima Mandiri and travel content creators JAJAGO, the company unveiled the Isuzu ELF NLR Campervan, demonstrating how a light-duty truck chassis can be developed into a recreational vehicle for tourism and long-distance travel.
"Through the presence of the Isuzu ELF NLR Campervan at GIIAS 2026, we want to demonstrate that Isuzu commercial vehicles offer a very wide range of applications. They can be developed into campervans that support travel, tourism, and the creative economy. Our collaboration with Delima Mandiri and JAJAGO reflects how Isuzu can provide mobility solutions that match the evolving needs of Indonesian customers," said Rian Erlangga, Business Strategy Division Head of PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia.
The campervan is built on the Isuzu ELF NLR B chassis, measuring 4,700 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width, and 2,205 mm in height. According to Isuzu, the platform offers sufficient space and flexibility for coachbuilders to create recreational vehicles equipped with modern living amenities while maintaining the durability expected from a commercial truck.
Inside the vehicle, the company equips the ELF NLR with a Multi Information Display, an adjustable driver's seat, tilt steering, a 2.4A USB charging port, a 24V/120W power socket, multifunction storage compartments, and an integrated blower system that can be paired with additional cabin cooling equipment depending on customer requirements.
Power comes from Isuzu's 4JJ1-TC Common Rail diesel engine, producing 120 PS at 2,600 rpm and 36 kg.m of torque at 1,500 rpm. The engine complies with Euro 4 emission standards through the use of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). A dual-stage fuel filtration system, including a pre-fuel filter, is also designed to help maintain engine performance and reduce maintenance costs.

During the campervan development process, we found that the Isuzu ELF NLR chassis was highly adaptable and capable of accommodating the facilities required for a recreational vehicle. Combined with Isuzu's reputation for durability and its extensive after-sales network, it provides confidence for customers travelling long distances," said Albertus Whitney, Product Manager of PT Delima Mandiri.
The project also involves travel content creators John and Riana, better known as JAJAGO, who have spent years exploring Indonesia in campervans. Their latest motorhome, named Komo, is displayed throughout GIIAS 2026 and featured in meet-and-greet sessions with visitors.
"Through Komo's presence at GIIAS 2026, we want to show that Indonesia is capable of building motorhomes that allow people to enjoy nature just like those found overseas. Using the Isuzu ELF as the foundation also gives us a vehicle that is already well known for its durability and reliability in the commercial vehicle segment," said John of JAJAGO.
The ELF NLR Campervan highlights how commercial vehicle platforms can be adapted for emerging mobility trends beyond their traditional transport roles. For Isuzu, the project also demonstrates the opportunities created through collaboration with Indonesia's coachbuilding industry.
