Otojatim.com - Introduced just last August 2023, the Mitsubishi XForce has quickly gained traction in the Indonesian automotive market, thanks to its array of sophisticated features aimed at enhancing user convenience, particularly in terms of safety.

Here are the active safety features boasted by the Mitsubishi XForce:

1. Active Yaw Control (AYC)

Operating during high-speed cornering, especially on slippery roads, this feature adjusts the braking force on the front wheels to optimize stability during maneuvers. By doing so, the likelihood of understeer (loss of control) is minimized, while also helping to maintain the vehicle's position consistently within the desired line.

2. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

ACC supports acceleration, deceleration, and stopping of the vehicle, reducing the driver's workload in long traffic jams on highways.

3. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

The ABS is a crucial component in modern braking systems. It proves highly useful during sudden braking, particularly in preventing wheel lock-up, thereby facilitating easier control and minimizing the risk of skidding.

4. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)

Working in tandem with ABS, this feature optimizes the distribution of braking force to the vehicle's wheels, enhancing stability and control, especially on slippery roads.

5. Active Stability Control (ASC)

When loss of traction and deviation from the desired path are detected, this feature intervenes by reducing engine power and automatically applying the brakes.

6. Drive Mode

A standout feature of the Mitsubishi XForce, there are four driving modes: normal, wet, gravel, and mud. These modes customize traction control, AYC, acceleration, and steering to different levels, aiding drivers in mastering various road conditions.

"In Indonesia, road conditions vary greatly, and rainfall is quite high, often resulting in flooded streets. Using the Wet mode is very helpful for drivers," said Rifat Sungkar, a rally driver and Mitsubishi Brand Ambassador.

7. Auto Light Control

When driving in dark conditions, the lights will automatically turn on. Enhanced visibility is ensured with rain sensors that activate when water is detected on the windshield.

8. Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

Drivers need not worry about colliding with unseen objects around the vehicle, as the BSW feature detects the position of other vehicles via radar within a three-meter range behind or beside the vehicle.

"This feature is embedded in the side mirrors to alert the driver. If the mirror displays an orange light, it means there's a vehicle nearby, allowing us to be more vigilant," said Rifat.

9. Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

This feature proves invaluable when parking in crowded areas with limited visibility. Utilizing sensors and cameras, it detects approaching vehicles from behind when exiting a parking space, preventing collisions with other vehicles. Visual and auditory warnings are issued accordingly.

10. Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)

This feature alerts the driver during emergency braking by causing the brake lights to flash rapidly, signaling to vehicles behind that an urgent situation is unfolding. This prompts them to pay special attention and be more vigilant.

Takao Kato, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors, stated that the XForce is the result of Mitsubishi's team dedication to realizing the dream vehicle for Indonesian society. "We have poured our hearts and souls into the development of the X-Force to bring everyday driving joy to our customers," he said during the GIIAS 2023 event on Friday, August 11, 2023.
