OTOJATIM - Chery Indonesia has expanded its J6 Series lineup by unveiling the new J6T CSH at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The adventure-styled SUV adopts Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology as part of the company's Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) family, delivering an electric driving experience with a combined driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers.
"J6 Series has received an excellent response since its introduction in Indonesia. As consumer needs continue to evolve, we see growing demand for a vehicle that delivers an electric driving experience while providing greater flexibility for long-distance travel," said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Director of Chery Business Unit Indonesia.
"That is why we are introducing the J6T CSH as the newest member of the J6 Series while strengthening Chery Super Hybrid in Indonesia. This reflects our spirit of Drive Electric. Go Further.," he added.
The J6T CSH uses an electric motor as its primary source of propulsion, while the gasoline engine functions as a generator to supply electricity when needed. This REEV system enables the SUV to achieve a combined driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, providing greater confidence for long-distance journeys.
Chery has retained the rugged character of the J6 Series by equipping the J6T CSH with a Tank Turn Feature, making it easier to maneuver in tight off-road situations. Rear-seat comfort has also been improved through a more relaxed seatback angle, helping passengers stay comfortable during extended trips.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the SUV includes a 6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function that allows the vehicle to power external electrical devices. The exterior is further enhanced by 21-inch alloy wheels, reinforcing its bold adventure-inspired design.
The J6T CSH also offers a 220 mm ground clearance and 650 mm water-wading capability, making it suitable for a wide range of road conditions. Its lightweight aluminum body structure and H-arm aluminum suspension are designed to improve stability and handling while maintaining durability.
Safety features include 15 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and six airbags. Inside the cabin, a 15.6-inch touchscreen serves as the central hub for vehicle settings, navigation, connectivity, and infotainment functions.
Chery has also opened pre-booking for the J6T CSH during GIIAS 2026. Visitors to the exhibition can experience the SUV firsthand through test-drive sessions available throughout the event.
