OTOJATIM - Aletra has taken another step in expanding its presence in Indonesia's electric vehicle market by unveiling the Aletra L7 prototype at the 2026 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The upcoming model is designed as a Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LMPV) for families and is scheduled for an official launch in October 2026.
"Our presence at GIIAS 2026 reflects Aletra's long-term commitment to Indonesia. Following the positive market response to the Aletra L8, the Aletra L7 marks our next step. We want to ensure that sustainable mobility becomes accessible to more Indonesian families," said Andre Djojana, Chief Executive Officer of PT Aletra Mobil Nusantara.
The Aletra L7 was developed through a collaboration between Aletra and Linxys. The base vehicle from Linxys has been adapted to suit Indonesian road conditions and local customer preferences. The company aims to position the model as an affordable electric MPV while maintaining a premium level of comfort for family users.
Dimensionally, the Aletra L7 measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,705 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height. Its proportions are intended to meet the needs of family transportation, while the exterior adopts a modern and dynamic design language.
One of the key highlights is the availability of captain seats for the second row. The seating configuration offers additional passenger comfort, more personal space, and easier access to the third row.
The prototype is also equipped with automatic sliding doors, a feature commonly found in higher-end MPVs. Aletra believes this addition will enhance convenience for passengers while strengthening the vehicle's appeal in the growing family EV segment.
"The Aletra L7 displayed today is still a prototype undergoing intensive development. We hope it will become an affordable electric LMPV for Indonesian families while continuing to deliver a premium driving experience," Andre added.
The Aletra L7 remains under development and is expected to make its official debut alongside the inauguration of Aletra's new headquarters in October 2026. Once launched, it will broaden the range of electric MPVs available to Indonesian consumers looking for family-oriented zero-emission transportation.
