2 BMW Hybrids as World Superbike Safety Cars in Mandalika

Jakarta, Otojatim.com - BMW Indonesia has officially collaborated with the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) as the official MGPA vehicle for the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit event.

Bayu Riyanto as Vice President of Sales and Network Development at BMW Indonesia together with Dyan Dilato, Head of Operations Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) attended the handover ceremony for 2 hybrid BMW 330e M Sport and BMW X3 xDrive30e cars.

The two cars will be used as Official Mobility Partners by MGPA at the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) and World Superbike (WSBK) events. And this collaboration will continue at the Moto GP event which will be held in March 2022, where BMW is the Official Car of MotoGP since 1999.

At this handover ceremony, Bayu Riyanto said, “The BMW brand cannot be separated from the world of Motorsport as BMW's DNA. Therefore, we would like to announce that BMW will become the Official Mobility Partner for the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. This Indonesia circuit has met international standards for prestigious racing events. These two BMW units will be used as safety cars.”

Meanwhile, Dyan Dilato as the administrator of PP Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) said, "We are very pleased with the support from BMW Indonesia to advance Motorsport in Indonesia through the Official Mobility Partner for MGPA. The use of a qualified safety car that has the latest technology, plus being electrified is certainly a plus point for us both operationally and advancing the concept of Sustainability in every MGPA activity. Next, we will continue to strengthen cooperation with BMW Indonesia considering that BMW has been the Official Car of MotoGP for the last 20 years.”

At the event, BMW Indonesia became the Official Mobility Partner of MGPA by presenting Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) vehicles, namely the BMW 330e M Sport and BMW X3 xDrive30e.

Both cars feature state-of-the-art technology in terms of the BMW xDrive and BMW eDrive technology drive systems.

The combination of a 2.0L gasoline engine and an electric motor produces the best power and efficiency in the medium class sedan. The BMW 330e M Sport churns out 252hp and 420Nm of torque.

While the BMW X3 xDrive30e which as SAV (Sport Active Vehicle) category produces 292hp of power and 420Nm of torque.(*)
