OTOJATIM - Mazda Motor Corporation has officially begun local assembly of the Mazda CX-30 in Indonesia on July 29, 2026, reinforcing the country's position as one of the Japanese automaker's most important markets in the ASEAN region. The move also signals a major expansion of Mazda's manufacturing footprint as demand for the brand continues to grow.
“Indonesia is a key market for Mazda in the ASEAN region, following Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand in sales volume, and one where we expect continued growth. The start of local assembly of the Mazda CX-30 marks an important milestone in strengthening the Mazda brand and expanding our presence in Indonesia,” said Toru Nakajima, Mazda's Senior Executive Officer, during the production launch ceremony.
Local assembly is being carried out by PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), Mazda's exclusive distributor in Indonesia, together with its wholly owned subsidiary PT Eurokars Produksi Pratama (EPP). The Mazda CX-30 is assembled on a dedicated production line developed specifically for Mazda vehicles.
To ensure the Indonesian-built CX-30 meets the same standards as Mazda models produced elsewhere, the company is providing comprehensive support throughout the production process. That support includes personnel training, installation of manufacturing equipment, technical assistance for vehicle production, and the supply of parts to maintain Mazda's global quality standards.
Mazda explained that the project is part of its Lean Asset Strategy, which emphasizes collaboration with local partners to improve efficiency while expanding customer access to Mazda vehicles through domestic production and distribution.
The company believes local assembly will strengthen product availability in Indonesia while creating a production system capable of responding more quickly to market demand.
“We aim to further strengthen Mazda's unique brand value in this market, deepen customer trust, and provide customers with an even richer ownership experience than ever before. Moving forward, Mazda will work in unison with our business partners to contribute to the continued development of Indonesia's automotive industry,” Nakajima said.
He added that Mazda will continue offering products tailored to the characteristics and needs of each market while preserving the driving experience that has become one of the brand's defining qualities.
With Indonesia now joining Mazda's local manufacturing network in ASEAN, the automaker expects the CX-30 assembly program to strengthen its long-term business growth in the country. Mazda also views Indonesia as one of its key regional hubs, where it plans to broaden its product lineup and reach more customers in the years ahead.
