Jakarta, Otojatim.com - The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2022 automotive exhibition will take place on Thursday (11/8/2022). The exhibition event which will take place at the Indonesia Convention Center (ICE) in BSD City, Tangerang carries the theme Future is Bright by prioritizing the utility of electrification technology that is being promoted by the government as well as the latest vehicle technology including its best features.
GIIAS 2022 will be officially opened by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto and accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
The opening will also be attended by the General Chairperson of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi and the Chairperson of the GIIAS 2022 Organizer, Rizwan Alamsjah which will take place from 09.00 - 10.00 then followed by a visit to the exhibition area.
New Vehicle Launches and Automotive Electrification
Many things will be presented at GIIAS 2022, including automotive electrification, which is currently a focus for the government. On several occasions this year's GIIAS Pre-Event including the GIIAS Talk which took place at the end of July 2022, GAIKINDO also emphasized that GAIKINDO and the government have the same thoughts and concerns regarding the sustainability of energy changes, in this case fuel.
Therefore, it is important to direct the automotive industry to focus more on utilizing new and renewable energy sources that can be used for all. And what is being discussed is the Battery-Based Electric Motorized Vehicle (KBLBB).
Supporting the government's great commitment, GIIAS 2022 will provide education and build community support, which is one of the important driving factors in the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
GIIAS 2022 will present information and education about electric-based motorized vehicles from passenger, commercial, and two-wheeled vehicles. GIIAS 2022 presents the latest technology and products from a total of 25 brands of passenger and commercial vehicles which will include their electric vehicles, namely Audi, BMW, Chery, Daihatsu, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, MG, Mini, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, VW, Wuling, and from commercial vehicles were Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi Fuso and UD Trucks.
It has become an annual tradition in holding GIIAS, all automotive brands launch their newest products. There are more than 30 new cars that will be launched at GIIAS this year. Including the launch of electric-based vehicles, of course the participants will also carry the latest technology such as how the engine works, propulsion technology and so on.
More than 100 brands from supporting industries were also present at GIIAS 2022, from the body industry present; Adiputro, Laksana, Tentrem, well-known brands of two-wheelers also participated with some also bringing electric motors at this year's GIIAS; Alva, AHM, Benelli, CF Moto, Exotic Bike, Gelis, Keeway, Minerva, Pacific Bike, Royal Enfield, Segway, Selis, SM Motor, SYM, Wmoto.
GIIAS 2022 presents a new innovation, namely the allocation of an indoor electric vehicle test area, the Indoor EV Test Track. There are 11 brands of four-wheeled vehicles that have stated that they will participate in the Indoor EV Test Track program, namely DFSK, Fuso, Hyundai, KIA, Lexus, MG, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, and Wuling, and 4 brands of two-wheeled vehicles who will join are Alva, Pacific E-Series, Segway, and Selis. Visitors who are interested in trying the latest event at the GIIAS exhibition can directly come to Hall 10, and register through the Auto360 application.
"To introduce the public to the various advantages of electric vehicles, GIIAS 2022 prepares a special area that is indoors, the GIIAS Electric Vehicle (EV) Test Track," said Rizwan Alamsjah, Chairman III and Chairman of the GAIKINDO Exhibition Organizer. According to him, in the EV Test Track area, visitors will get direct experience of driving with electric vehicles, safely and comfortably. "Visitors will get assistance from electric vehicle product experts, from each Brand Holder Agent (APM) who will also provide various information and education. related to the advantages of electric vehicles, and the right driving experience," he explained.
Booster Vaccination Center
Another thing that makes the difference at GIIAS 2022 is the allocation of booster vaccination centers at two points. Namely in the outdoor zone in front of Hall-3 and Garuda Room 1 located on the 1st floor of ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency. For visitors who already have a GIIAS 2022 ticket and a booster vaccine ticket on the PeduliLindung application, they can get a booster vaccination at GIIAS 2022.
GIIAS 2022 entrance ticket is only available it is in the Auto360 application, with the attendance of visitors divided into two sessions each day, to ensure there are no crowds in the exhibition entrance area. Entrance ticket prices do not increase, namely Rp. 50.000, - for weekdays (Monday-Friday) and Rp. 100.000,- for the weekend.
The GIIAS 2022 the Series will start on 11-21 August 2022 at BSD City, Tangerang. Then continued with GIIAS Surabaya on 14-18 September 2022 at Grand City Convex, then GIIAS Medan on 5-9 October 2022 at Santika Premier Hotel and Convention, and GIIAS Makassar on 16-20 November 2022 at Celebes Convention Center.
