298,000 Audi Q5s Sold in 2024. What Makes This SUV So Popular?

OTOJATIM – Audi Q5 has grown into one of the most important models in Audi’s global SUV lineup. The latest generation now arrives in Indonesia, carrying a formula built around premium comfort, practical space, digital technology and everyday performance.
The latest Audi Q5 brings Audi’s globally successful premium SUV formula to Indonesia.
“We see customers looking for a vehicle with strong design, flexible space, easy-to-use technology, family comfort, and peace of mind throughout ownership. The New Audi Q5 SUV brings all of these needs together in an authentic experience that remains distinctly Audi,” said Edo Januar Chandra, Chief Operating Officer of Audi Indonesia. The quote is translated from the original statement provided by Audi Indonesia.

The numbers behind the Q5 explain why the model carries such weight within Audi’s portfolio. Around 298,000 Audi Q5 units were delivered worldwide in 2024, placing the SUV among the brand’s highest-volume models globally.

The latest Q5 therefore enters Indonesia with more than a new design. Audi is bringing a model that already has a substantial global customer base into a market where the premium SUV segment continues to offer room for models with strong brand identity and everyday usability.

A Global Formula With Everyday Focus
Audi describes the new Q5 through the concept “Refined in Motion.” Its proportions use a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs, giving the SUV a balanced stance.

The design also follows Audi’s current visual language. A prominent Singleframe grille sits between precision LED lighting, while the body surfaces use cleaner lines and sharper details.

The brochure highlights digital OLED rear lighting and customizable light graphics as part of the Q5’s visual character. S line details and large alloy wheels further shape its premium appearance.

Inside, Audi takes a more technology-focused approach. The driver gets an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, while the front passenger has access to a separate 10.9-inch MMI passenger display.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, along with a navigation system providing real-time information. Audi also offers a panoramic sunroof and Ambient Lighting Package Pro with 30 selectable colors.

The Q5’s practicality is equally important to its global positioning. Its rear bench can be configured for greater flexibility, while luggage capacity reaches 520 liters. A power tailgate adds convenience when loading and unloading luggage.

The SUV measures 4,717 mm long, 2,155 mm wide and 1,647 mm tall, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. Those dimensions give the Q5 a substantial road presence while keeping its focus on everyday mobility.

Performance Without Losing Its Daily Character
Under the hood sits a 1,984 cc 2.0 TFSI engine producing 196 PS and 340 Nm of torque.

The engine works with a seven-speed S tronic transmission and front-wheel drive. Audi claims 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 226 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.3 liters per 100 km.

That specification gives the Q5 enough performance for highway travel while retaining the everyday character Audi has emphasized for this generation.

The cabin also receives features aimed at long-distance comfort, including electrically adjustable front seats, three-zone automatic climate control and acoustic glazing for the front door windows.

Audi Q5 Arrives in Indonesia
Audi Indonesia launched the latest Q5 at GIIAS 2026, expanding its local Q Series lineup alongside the Q3 Sportback, Q5 Sportback, Q7 and Q8.

The Q5 is priced from Rp1.725 billion in Indonesia.

During GIIAS 2026, buyers receive an ownership package covering scheduled servicing for up to 3+2 years or 100,000 km, vehicle warranty for up to 3+1 years with unlimited mileage, and 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance.

With its global sales record, premium cabin, flexible interior and 2.0 TFSI powertrain, the latest Audi Q5 arrives in Indonesia carrying the same basic proposition that has made the nameplate important to Audi worldwide: a premium SUV designed to fit into everyday life.
